Watami offers new sushi flavors and skewers for you Japanese food lovers. This is my first time to visit this branch in Mall of Asia and I was impressed by their decor. Room was well lit, you might want to close the blinds if seated near the window during daylight though.
Staff were attentive and able to explain each skewer and sushi that was put on our table but dishes took some time to be served. I find their sushi a bit big than the usual bite size but it’s a good thing for me.
Here’s what we tried:
Volcano Roll (295php) – Freshly sliced salmon sprinkled with chili powder topped with vegetables. This was spicy at a right level. Make sure to dip the salmon in your soy sauce.
Angel Roll (375php) – Ebi Tempura and cucumber inside the rice topped with crab meat and mayonnaise. One that stood out as this was not that spicy than the others. I was able to taste its flavor in every bite and it was really good.
Ebi Dynamite Roll (375php) – My favorite of all that was served. It was spicy as well but I don’t mind that in my Ebi.
King Dragon Roll – Here you get two pieces of each sushi flavor. Perfect for those who wanted variety on their sushi.
Assorted Chicken Skewers (295php) – Liver, Skin, Pork and Enoki, Wings and Balls. They were all marinated with the same sauce.
Assorted Creative Skewers – As the name, you can get creative and choose any of their available skewers.
For drinks, I tried Orange Yakult and it tasted so good as the Orange and Yakult were evident on every sip. One does not overshadow the other.
There’s coolers available too.
They also have ice cream in different flavors and Creme Brulee for dessert. But what I highly recommend is their Macha Cheesecake. The cake was soft and Macha isn’t that overpowering. Really tasty!
