{"id":10368,"date":"2024-08-30T00:31:54","date_gmt":"2024-08-29T16:31:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/humble-copper-duck.109-123-235-239.cpanel.site\/?p=10368"},"modified":"2024-08-30T00:31:54","modified_gmt":"2024-08-29T16:31:54","slug":"earthlens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wanderwithsisters.net\/?p=10368","title":{"rendered":"Earth + Lens exhibit propels environmental stewardship at National Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since its inception in 2018, the Earth + Lens photo exhibit has captivated audiences with its powerful imagery and message of environmental stewardship.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/190614705@N08\/53954381263\/in\/dateposted-public\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53954381263_e9de5c92b5_z.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Launched on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Hyundai Hall, National Museum of Natural History, this year\u2019s exhibit is bigger and more impactful, drawing support from key organizations and bringing the wonders of nature to a broader audience.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/190614705@N08\/53953240182\/in\/dateposted-public\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53953240182_31aa556984_c.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The exhibit, organized by the Manila Bulletin (MB) in partnership with HUAWEI, the Department of Tourism (DOT), and new esteemed partners, the National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA) and the National Museum of the Philippines, showcases the beauty of the natural world captured by its talented partner photographers. This year\u2019s theme continues the tradition of highlighting the grandeur of Philippine nature, with an expanded focus on the movement of life forms in harmony with the natural landscape.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/190614705@N08\/53954585035\/in\/dateposted-public\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53954585035_698044d376_c.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The ceremonial opening was marked by the unveiling of the main event posters, led by Dr. Emilio C. Yap III, President of the Manila Bulletin Publishing Corporation; Secretary Herminio \u201cSonny\u201d Coloma Jr., Publisher of the Manila Bulletin; Luca Li, HUAWEI Smartphone GTM Manager; Rene S. Nape\u00f1as, NCCA Head of Public Affairs and Information Office; and Jorell M. Legaspi, Deputy Director-General for Museums of the National Museum of the Philippines.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/190614705@N08\/53953240077\/in\/dateposted-public\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53953240077_36185af233_c.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In his remarks, Secretary Coloma highlighted the exhibit\u2019s goal of reaching as many Filipinos as possible, emphasizing the importance of making these images accessible to a broad audience. \u201cThe National Museum regularly attracts scores of visitors who are interested in the history and cultural heritage of our country. The purpose is to really bring these images to as many Filipinos as possible so they may have a broader vision and knowledge of what makes our nation a great country,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>A special highlight of the event was the participation of partner photographers Silver Belen, Noel Pabalate and Jan Mayo, who shared their experiences using the HUAWEI Pura 70 series smartphones. The photographers delved into their creative process, showcasing how the advanced features of the Pura 70 series, such as the Telephoto Macro Shot and Portrait Shot, allowed them to capture the intricate beauty of the great outdoors in unparalleled detail.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/190614705@N08\/53954381493\/in\/dateposted-public\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53954381493_6f423d78d1_c.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanted every photo to reveal incredible landscapes and life forms that define the Philippines. But the HUAWEI Pura 70 series\u2019 clarity and versatility helped me capture more than that. I captured moments that speak volumes about our commitment to preserving nature. It\u2019s an honor to share these images and inspire others to protect our environment,\u201d Jan Mayo, a new partner photographer for this year, said in his speech during the program.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/190614705@N08\/53953240372\/in\/dateposted-public\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53953240372_f69d69ec88_z.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While Silver Belen highlighted his latest favorite HUAWEI phone feature, \u201cWith every click of the shutter, my goal is to highlight the delicate balance between life forms and their natural surroundings. The advanced features of the HUAWEI Pura 70 series, such as the Telephoto Macro Shot, enabled me to capture these moments in stunning detail, and see and appreciate the wonders of our environment up close.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit, featuring photographs printed on fabric canvas using eco-solvent ink, offers a fresh perspective on the lesser-explored parts of the tourist destinations in the country, including Quezon City, Bohol, Leyte, Ifugao, Batanes, and South Cotabato.
