Chives Bistro is a homey restaurant in Lamp Quarters, Marikina. Probably the place I would want to relax, and do my own thing beside eating. They have industrial, rustic ambiance on one corner yet forestry, cozy look on the other.
They serve fusion of European and Asian dishes and we were able to try three items off of their their Lunch special.
Truffled Egg Sandwich has capers on top to add a bit of crunchiness on the creamy egg. It tasted ok, I just wish that they would make use of a different Mayonnaise as it tasted familiar. The truffle oil made up for it though. This comes along with fries.
Chicken was grilled perfectly. It was tender and the flavor was already added when it was tossed together. They added a generous amount of pesto as well. However, the Pasta was a bit under cooked. Has it been cooked perfectly, this would be a meal I’d come back to.
Baked Pork Schnitzel. Breaded Pork Chop that was deep fried and then placed in an oven with its spinach cream sauce. Topped with torched Mozzarella Cheese. This is such so pleasant to eat. Everything was spectacular. Even the red rice. Perfect match it is.
These are the dishes that we tried so far and I can’t wait to try more when I get back.
