Cassalu is a new restaurant located in Ayala Mall Circuit, Makati. This restaurant started as a Pastry business way back 2007. The owners are fond of specialty coffee so they decided to put up a cafe. The business grew so they decided to make it a restaurant and now has 3 branches.
Cassalu was derived from their children’s name Cassandra and Lucas. I think it was such a clever idea and that they’re the lucky charms, too.
Coffee mugs on the wall in different colors as decor are such pleasant to the eyes. Every corner is Instagram-worthy, too. The artsy tiles, green leafy garden feel and hanging cute little bulbs.
This place is a bit small but can accommodate up to 20-30 persons. If you’re in big groups, better to call them right ahead to secure your seats.
We’ve tried mostly their savory dishes and their specialty coffees and cakes, too.
Bacon Alfredo Pasta (Php238) – The pasta was cooked al dente. The sauce was thick and creamy, too.
Fries Extreme (Php98) – For its price, I find it cheap as this is good for 2-3 persons. Crisp fries and I love the cheese and bacon bits on top.
Spicy Sardines Pasta (Php228) – This has a mild spicy flavor, so don’t fret. I liked that it doesn’t have that strong fishy taste. Perfect to order if you’re on a diet.
Clubhouse Sandwich (Php258) – Generous amount of meat here. The cheese, eggs, and greens all were placed neatly in this sandwich. I would order this again and again!
Hickory Pork Belly (Php328) – Well marinated pork belly. It was really tender and sauce gave it more smoky flavor to it.
Chicken ala King (Php308) – Chicken was fried to crisp. The sauce was creamy and not overwhelming.
Salisbury Steak (Php278) – It was done really well. The gravy made it memorable. It tasted good but not the best that I’ve tried.
Oriental Pork (Php278) – pork fingers were deep fried to crisp but I have to say that the sauce gave it an interesting flavor. This is one delectable dish.
Premium Beef Tapa (Php238) – Well marinated meat, indeed! You can taste its flavor all the way to the very last piece. This would be the best dish here, in my opinion.
Pair your dishes with refreshing drinks. They have a lot on the menu:
Fresh Dalandan (Php95)
Strawberry Cafe Latte (Php170)
Midnight Cookie (Php220)
Ethiopia Shakis Guji (Php295)
Cafe Latte (Php135)
For desserts, this is their main specialty. They do have 12 flavors of Cheesecake for only Php1,350.
Frozen Cheesecake
It’s also available per slice.
Double Trouble (Php175)
I’m A Mess (Php175)
Fruity Madly Deeply (Php175)
This place is great if you wanted some savory dishes with coffee and cakes, too. No need to go elsewhere as they have most that you crave in one sitting.
